The type of personal information we collect
We currently collect and process the following information:
- Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (name, email, phone number, social media contacts)
We don't record peer-to-peer support sessions and do not use AI tools during video communication with participants
How we get the personal information and why we have it
The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you:
- When you choose to complete any surveys we send you
- When you engage with us on social media
- When you contact us by any means with queries etc.
We use the information that you have given us in order to:
- To send you link to the peer-to-peer online meetings.
- Survey and feedback requests to help improve our services and facilities.
- To send you communications required by law or which are necessary to inform you about our changes to the services we provide you. For example, updates to this Privacy Notice,. These service messages will not include any promotional content and do not require prior consent when sent by email or text message. If we do not use your personal data for these purposes, we would be unable to comply with our legal obligations.
- To develop, test and improve the, services we provide to you. We'll do this on the basis of our legitimate business interests.
Sharing
Declan's Parkinson's has never and will never share participants' contact details with third party organisations.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is Your consent and legitimate business interest.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored. We will only store your personal data in the UK. This means that it will be fully protected under the GDPR. The security of your personal data is essential to us and to protect your data, we take a number of important measures. Computer records are held on a computer which is password secured and access is strictly controlled. We use business graded software for keeping the data safe. We keep your treatment consent forms for 2 years since your last appointment. We will then dispose your information by destroying or anonymising the data.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

- Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information.
- Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information.
